About Notre Dame de Namur University

Founded in 1851 by the Sisters of Notre Dame (originally from Namur, Belgium), Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) is an accredited Catholic co-educational university in the San Francisco bay area near Silicon Valley. The University offers a welcoming, accessible learning environment anchored by dedicated professors who are committed to guiding students both in their academic pursuits and career development.

From the very beginning, NDNU has been a driving force for social change, peace and justice within its community and beyond. In 1868, NDNU became the first college in California authorized to grant bachelor’s degrees to women, and the global push for equality and diversity continues as NDNU’s online programs bring the University’s education opportunity to students anywhere in the world.
